Education has existed through time in many shapes and forms, a good unto itself and the indisputable source of visible benefits for the world. Vital developments in technology, science, architecture and engineering can all be attributed to its expansion. Each of the subjects and topics studied from a tender age prepare us to be contributing members of our respective communities and enable each person to accomplish their dreams and goals. Education directly precedes innovation which in turn serves as one of the central tools for positive change in the world.
It is important, therefore, to equip all members of our society for the purpose of making the world a better place through the transformation of one life at a time. The Latin derivative of education is ‘educere’ which can be translated to the english phrase “lead out”. Education is, thus, the process of leading the individual mind, and therefore the entire community with it, out of the darkness of ignorance and into the light that guides towards greater development and progress. Many do not have access to the education or training necessary to develop their mind, skills and still dormant talents. This has a weakening effect on the community at large. Failure to provide equal opportunities and access to education for the disadvantaged members of society cripples the economy, the political system, and every other aspect of our civilizations. It can be asserted, that nations currently experiencing or that have experienced rapid progress and growth did so by empowering their youth. Thus, enabling easier access to educational facilities, prioritizing scholarly pursuits and student success has a transformative effect on the individual, community, national and even on the international level.
